about us

Fold of Friends was founded in the spirit of joy and love for animals by enduring advocate and caregiver, Nicole Ganas. Nicole has been lovingly and mindfully caring for animals over the last 30 years and has fine tuned her craft of caregiving in a professional sense through the private, shelter, sanctuary, veterinary and rescue sectors. As Fold of Friends, Nicole is delighted for the opportunity to share time with the special beings we call companions. Nicole has received Fear Free training through her shelter and rescue work and is pursuing Fear Free certification as a pet care provider and is a member of Pet Sitters International

The work I do in support of animals is sacred. My focus is on mindful, individualized care as craft. Each animal is embraced and honored for who they are and supported where they need to be.

Our Services

Fold of Friends is a small scale, mindful animal care service based in Marion, North Carolina. We are proud to offer loving, individualized care to domestic, exotic and farm companion animals who can safely feel the full expression of themselves in their own homes. Our pet sitting services include dog walks, visits and transport. Animals with special needs including medical, differently abled, senior, hospice and the behaviorally sensitive can be properly supported and are warmly welcome into the fold. Health, happiness and harmony are the cornerstones of our care services with safety being paramount. We hope to step back into micro scale boarding services in the near future.

A complimentary meet and greet is our proud protocol prior to accepting the great honor of assignments.

HELP ME HOLD THE LIGHT

I believe in love and in being a beacon of light for others to follow. The fabric of my being and foundation of my heart work with animals and community is based on cultivating joy through caregiving; elevating and supporting others no matter the species is my activism. I was born with this purpose.

Recently, I have dedicated myself to Hurricane Helene relief work in Western North Carolina in my beloved community of Old Fort, the neighboring community of Marion and transforming my vehicle into a mobile emergency supply distribution center for pets and people within an hour radius of Asheville. Active projects include hosting a cat who got separated from her family in the flood until they can be reunited as well as caregiving and rescue for displaced dogs and cats in McDowell County. The need is great.

Service work is my great passion. All personal projects are self funded. YOU can help sustain my service to others as a floating anchor of support for pets and people in need by donating through the option below.
